BARN HOUSE ~ A Look Back...

For those of us who were part of the annual BARN HOUSE Flea, we're all finding ourselves a little sad these days because this year, there is no BARN HOUSE Vintage Market to look forward to.

This is the week we would all be reuniting at Joe & Jermonne's farm to set up and prepare for the
BARN HOUSE Vintage Market.

Each year this one-day event  was attended by hundreds if not thousands of people.  BARN HOUSE Vintage Market was voted and published as one of the best vintage shows in the Northwest.

But for us, it was more than just setting up for a show.  It was a week long reunion of good friends, fun, long talks, camp fires, good food, horse-play, laughter and so much more.

We all truly loved being together and working together doing what we love.
That's what it's all about.

The BH boys have moved on to Texas and we miss them dearly.
But we will never forget what they created at their home, their friendship, love, hugs, tears and kindness.

I am now the proud owner of the BARN HOUSE sign that proudly hung on their barn.
It now resides on the side of my barn. I am reminded everyday of the good times spent with my dear friends and it makes me smile.

Joe & Jermonne
I miss your smile and laughter.
Don't ever forget the ones who love you.

BARN HOUSE memories...priceless.

A Perfect Day For a Road Trip

Who doesn't love a road trip.  Yesterday was a perfect day for one.  My husband and I don't get many days off together because of our work schedules so when we do, and the weather is beautiful, we head out for the open road.

We headed up north to one of our favorite scenic routes, first stop, Swift reservoir, a 10 mile long lake at the foot of  Mount St. Helens.  It's a beautiful place to camp as well which we have done many times over the years.

From there we headed further east towards Mt. Adams...

The scenery is so beautiful along the way, streams, waterfalls and mossy forest.

Our furthest destination was another favorite spot... at the foot of Mt. Adams.
It's a beautiful, secluded camp ground with only 6 camp sites.  They're hard to get which we found out on another trip up there. It's a 2 1/2 hour drive from where we live but well worth the trip.

The twin waterfalls that overlook the campground are beautiful and the sound is spectacular.
We stayed for awhile enjoying the view and then headed back towards home.

The whole trip is so scenic and I recommend it to anyone who lives in the Pacific Northwest.

Hope you enjoyed the scenery and thanks for stopping by!

Finally...a New Post!

I'm back...

It's been two months since my last post and let's just say I've had writers cramp, brain cramps and occasional lazy cramps.
I really want to get back to blogging on a regular basis again.  It's just a matter of discipline... making the time to just sit down and do it...something I need to work on.

So, with that said, I thought I'd show you my revamped space at Monticello since it's been awhile...

Stay tuned for my next post...

Wisteria Love...

Hello everyone...I'm back!
My first post in a long time...where does the time go!

For those of us in the Pacific Northwest, we are loving this streak of warm weather.  Everything is in full bloom at my house including the Wisteria...my favorite. I wanted to share these pictures of it.
It's so beautiful and fragrant...take a look...

We have two large pergolas on the deck and it took 2 years for the Wisteria to spread and completely cover them.  We don't have to use umbrellas for shade anymore!

Makeover at Monticello...

I can't believe it's been a month since I posted!  I gave my space a little makeover and thought you might like to see it.

I have a thing about dress forms, the more wear & tear & tattered, the better.

I love many things but I'm a Victorian at heart, if you haven't noticed!

Love this torn & tattered french curtain panel. I only use it for display because I can't part with it!

This is a very old 4ft. tall framed canvas screen...gorgeous!

Easter is just around the corner
and the bunnies are waiting...

Thanks for stopping by!
I'll try not to stay gone so long next time!
